Pokémon Rate My Team

I recently got into team building, especially for the OU and UU tiers. I recently built a team around Mega Altaria and it is a complete monster. This team helped me get to a 1350 rating on the Pokemon Showdown ladder, but any pro tips and suggestions will really be appreciated. Here's the team:

Nimbus (Altaria) (F) @ Altarianite
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 8 Atk / 248 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Flamethrower
- Roost
- Earthquake

The star of the team! Mega Altaria isn’t the most common OU mega in the meta today, but it doesn’t mean it can’t put in the finest of work! This set gives us max speed and almost max special attack so that we can put 8 EV’s into Attack. Hyper voice is the hard hitting STAB, pixilate boosted move that is standard. Flamthrower is to hit Ferrothorn’s and Scizor’s. Earthquake is just to hit Heatran because this set would otherwise get walled by it.

TheKingNappy (Gengar) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sludge Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp
- Destiny Bond

Named this Mon after my favorite YouTuber! This is a pretty standard set, running the powerful STAB moves in Shadow Ball and Sludge Wave as well as having Will-o to burn things and cripple physical attackers. Destiny Bond is a move that comes in clutch in some matches where the opponent doesn’t expect it.

Skar (Skarmory) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 20 Atk / 236 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head
- Roost
- Whirlwind

I’m sorry I couldn’t come up with a more creative name for this one lol. Now then, My physical wall Skarmory is a really good switch in on physical hits. Stealth rock combined with Rocky helmet and Roost help to whittle down the opponent quickly. I chose Iron head as an offensive move so that Sylveon’s can’t safely switch in without taking monsterous damage. Whirlwind is to get rid of set up Mons who think Skarmory can be used as set up fodder.

Cruella (Tentacruel) (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 248 HP / 16 SpA / 244 SpD
Calm Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Acid Spray
- Ice Beam

Yet another uncreative nickname. A specially defensive monster that can dish out damage, Tentacruel gets rid of hazards as well as being a reliable wall. Acid Spray is a really unique choice because I want to stop any calm mind users that get out of hand.

Shere Khan (Raikou) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Extrasensory
- Hidden Power [Ice]

A speedy Special attacker, Raikou with its choice specs helps keep initiative with its volt switch as well as having extrasensory and HP Ice for coverage.

Spin Cycle (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 132 Def / 128 SpD
Calm Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Toxic
- Hidden Power [Ice]

And finally we have a mixed wall. Rotom-W takes hits on both the physical and the special sides so Hydro Pump and Volt switch are STAB attacks and Hidden power ice helps against dragon types that resist both STABs. Toxic is another way that I have to keep annoying walls in check. I opted for Will-o but Gengar already had it.

There you have it folks! Any suggestions and tips will really be appreciated! Thanks, Bye!
