Why is Whimsicott's nature power better than moonblast? Why does Salamence have HP EVs? Why is Scizor's iron head better than bug bite? Why does Muk have 44 physical attack EVs? Wouldn't it be better to put all the remaining EVs into defenses or all of them into physical attack?
nature power benefits of prankster because it's a status move that become an attack so i can use z-moves in priority that, on different fields in this case misty and electric, became twinckle tackle and gigavoly havoc, salamence HP evs are to resist a koko's life orb dazzling gleam 100% of the time, scizor's iron head is to hit all tapus and especially lele because i can not bullet punch it and bug type move has not a lot of use in this meta and last but not least it can not have bug bite in this generation, muk's 44 atk is to ko 100% of the time bulky lele i think, it's my old set i'm not sure.
It's usually not good to have 2 moves of the same type in one set
*looking at Scizor's Bullet Punch and Iron Head*
I'd go with Bullet Punch cuz of priority but Iron Head rex all tapus and especially lele, as you said.
Okay, that makes sense. However, wouldn't it make more sense to have 40 HP and 0 SpD so it also protects from physical attacks? What's the logic behind Muk's EV spread?
Well, 40HP or 36HP doesn't make any difference at the end and 4 EV it's to have a point more of Sp. def. than def for the download of porygon2(so it boosts it's attack and not sp.att.) and i checked muk's ev: they let muk takes garchomp's earthquake as a 3 hit ko, life orb tapu koko's thunderbolt under electric terrain as a 3 hit ko and the rest on attack.
WELL, spread i suppose
Why does Muk have 4 speed EVs?
4 ev didn't change anything significally so i put them on speed to outspeed other non invested muks
