Pokémon Rate My Team

So, recently, I’ve gotten more into competitive battling in Ultra Sun. I EV trained a Beldum I chained for and a gift Sylveon. I thought they would be good allies for each other in Battle Tree doubles, since Metagross is immune to Poison and resists Steel, and Sylveon can take care of Dark types. I just don’t know what the other two Pokémon on my team should be. Here are Sylveon and Metagross’s sets:

Metagross

Dex (Metagross) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Clear Body
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Rash Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Icy Wind
- Psyshock
- Flash Cannon

Sylveon

Drifty (Sylveon) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Bold Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Calm Mind
- Stored Power
- Wish

So, a bit of an explanation.

My Beldum that I caught happened to have Rash, so NebbyY proposed the idea that I should give it an Assault Vest. Since it had Rash, I decided to make it a Special attacker. 252 HP increases its survivability. 4 Attack boosts Bullet Punch. 252 Special Attack maxes out it’s decent Special Attack stat. Bullet Punch is priority and STAB. Icy Wind slows both opponents, and it covers Ground types. Psyshock is STAB, and it’s good for Special tanks. Flash Cannon is the more preferable STAB on the set.

My Sylveon was bred for me (by Glazio Kawaii) and I think it goes well with Metagross. Leftovers heal it’s HP, and even though a Pixie Plate would increase the power of Hyper Voice, I want it to be a bit more bulky. 4 Defense is because... Sylveon’s defense is trash. 252 Special Attack allows it to hit hard. Hyper Voice is STAB with Pixilate, and it hits both opponents. Calm Mind raises Special Attack and Special Defense. Stored Power is to abuse the boosts from Calm Mind. Wish can be used to heal itself, or Wish passing.

So, all of that said, I need suggestions for the 2 other team members, and a rating of these 2 sets.

Metagross and Sylveon seem pretty good. Only suggestion is that Stored Power should be changed to something else (like Protect in conjunction with Wish, Shadow Ball, Heal Bell to heal status, Hidden Power if it's Fire) because Stored Power will take a while to set up in Doubles.

So you have a Steel type and a Fairy type. I'd suggest finishing off the trio by using a Dragon Pokemon. You could use Garchomp, or Haxorus which is slightly easier to get, doesn't have a 4x Ice weakness, and is slightly stronger (but slower).

Garchomp @ Expert Belt
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Rock Slide
- Protect
- Poison Jab
or
Haxorus @ Expert Belt
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Rock Slide
- Protect
- Poison Jab

Since you don't have a mega, why not use one?

Gengar-Mega @ Gengarite
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Protect

Mega Gengar is just a really strong mega. Sludge Bomb can still take out fairies if Metagross is fainted, Shadow Ball and Focus Blast give perfect neutral coverage against everything. Protect is just a filler move to let your allies attack without getting hurt by the opponents attacks.

It isn't the bulkiest team, but Sylveon + Metagross are probably enough as a bulky core. You could also consider using a bulky intimidater (like Ray suggested) if you want more bulk.

Hope this helped!

I like the Mega Gengar idea, but is there another option in case I can’t get one?
you could use mega charizard y with STAB heat wave
mega kangaskhan for STAB fake out
mega tyranitar for STAB rock slide and to support garchomps sand veil
or do you want something other than a mega?
I think Mega Tyranitar would do well, I think I’ll see if I can find a Haunter/Gengar on the GTS, if I can’t, I’ll do Tyranitar. Thank you! :)
no problem!

Okay.

Metagross and Sylveon do go great together. There is one change you might want to try on Metagross, and that's Psychic over Psyshock. This is because of higher power and you can already hit special defenders with Bullet Punch. Maybe, however, you could try Shadow Ball over Bullet Punch (and try 4 SpDef instead) and then run Psyshock.

Sylveon seems great though.

As for the other two members....

Well, Metagross would be weak to special fire types without the Assault Vest. I just think that's a great doubles combo. Not sure where to start, but maybe a more supportive Pokemon would be nice.

Tapu Fini @ Aguav Berry (or something you might think of).

EVs: 252 HP/124 Def/124 SpDef/8 SpAtt
Calm
Ability: Misty Surge

Moonblast
Heal Pulse
Scald
Reflect

This is a set I've been running in the Ultra Moon battle tree. Reflect helps Sylveon's fairly low defence. Heal Pulse is good for Metagross, so you can stay in battle for more time. I know two fairies might not be great, but Tapu Fini is a great Pokemon.

Finally, we have an supportive physical attacker.

Incineroar @ Figy Berry

EVs: 252 HP/4 SpDef/252 Attack.
Careful or Admant (you have Careful right?)
Ability: Intimidate

Knock Off
Fake Out
Flare Blitz
U Turn

Incineroar is a great Pokemon. If you have a defensive set, that can work well too.

Hope I helped!

throat spray isn't in gen 7 :P
bullet punch is barely going to do anything to special walls with 40 base power
misty terrain doesn't boost the power of fairy moves
Yeah my Incineroar would have 172 HP, 84 Atk, and 252 SpDef EVs, if I remember correctly. Moves would be Fake Out, Darkest Lariat, Bulk Up, and Will-O-Wisp, and Careful.

Also my Tapu Fini has Timid. :/
