It's not a Gen 1 battle right? Just a regular(ish) battle but you can only use gen 1 pokemon.
Yes, I can only use Gen 1 pokemons, no legends and mythicals and Ditto is banned too
What format?

Hi! I have a couple of ideas.

First off, doesn’t Gen 1 have the perfect sun team? You have Ninetails, Charizard and Venusaur.

I once played against a torkoal that used overheat turn one. It held an eject pack, allowing a free switch into Venusaur. Slightly gimmicky, and Ninetails is to fast/frail to soak up damage, but you can still do this to allow a switch and get damage off.

Ninetales @ Eject Pack
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Overheat
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Dark Pulse

Dark Pulse can be any coverage move. Even hypnosis could work, but I wouldn’t recommend that. I’d take of slowbro because your team is to fast to utilize trick room.

Next, Venusaur. I’d recommend taking off either gengar or Nidoking to avoid triple poison. (Probably both, since your team has 5 special attackers.)

Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Earth Power
- Sleep Powder

Charizard and Dragonite both look solid, but I’d change Dragonite’s Nature to Jolly to outspeed (or at least speed tie) other Base 80 Pokémon, and give it a lum berry. Dragonite doesn’t need extra passive damage output so stopping burns is more valuable.

Next, Clefable. Almost all your Pokémon are sweepers with no recovery, so I’d suggest using a standard wish/teleport set. (I just exported this from Smogon.)

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Teleport
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect

The idea is to wish and then slow teleport into a low-health sweeper to heal them. Protect can be thunder wave/stealth rock as well.

Finally, Gengar. It’s okay, but your team has a lot of special Pokémon and Charizard hates stealth rock, so I’d suggest a rapid spin Pokémon. A good one would probably be Hitmonchan, it also appreciates the speed boost and is decently strong as well.

Hitmonchan (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Drain Punch
- Bullet Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Rapid Spin

Standard set, a decent special wall with natural bulk + assault vest as well.

This is a PokePaste with my edits. I hope I don’t change too much and that my suggestions help. Good luck with your tournament!
