I really wanted to get this team out before the Crown Tundra:
Dracozolt @ Life Orb
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bolt Beak
- Outrage
- Low Kick
- Aerial Ace
Dracozolt is the main sweeper of series 6 and with its ability hustle and its move bolt beak, it's not hard to see why. Bolt Beak and Outrage are both for STAB, Low Kick actually has 100 power when maxed plus raises Dracozolt's attack, and aerial ace can never miss(a good thing due to hustle) plus it boosts Dracozolt's speed when maxed.
Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Baneful Bunker
- Haze
- Recover
- Scald
One of the big things that stops dracozolt from sweeping is literally any fairy type. Thus, i brought a wall who resisted fairy. Baneful Bunker to stall opposing maxes.
Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 SpD / 24 Spe
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Roost
- Whirlwind
One of Dracozolt's biggest weaknesses is rhyperior. Thus, I brought Skarmory. It has massive defense, can hit rhyperior super effectively with body press and can force it out with whirlwind.
Mudsdale @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Stamina
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Tomb
- Body Press
- Rest
At this point I realized that both my walls were actually weak to electric, and thus I brought Mudsdale as a cushion. Again, the most popular electric type is dracozolt, and with Mudsdale's terrific ability Stamina it should be able to kill it with somewhat realative ease. Rock Tomb can lower speed as well.
Ninetales-Alola @ Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Aurora Veil
- Sheer Cold
- Blizzard
- Moonblast
My second countermeasure against Dracozolt is Ninetales-Alola. It is a really fast pokemon that can K.O dracozolt with blizzard, as well as set screens under hail. Sheer cold used to be freeze-dry, but the only two water types I ran into were Toxapex and Primarina, both of which have a lot of special bulk, so I decided to run sheer cold instead.
Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Focus Sash
Ability: Unseen Fist
Gigantamax: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet
- Thunder Punch
At this point, my team had 2 weaknesses to electric, fire, ground, and ice. Electric I could deal with, but I had a hard time dealing with the rest. Thus, I brought Urshifu-Rapid-Strike. Water and Fighting coverage allow it to defeat all of the above and thunder punch is mainly for primarina. Also, can I just say that Rapid-Strike is way better than singles than Single-Strike(while single-strike is better in doubles)?
Sorry, forgot to post gamplay, anyways:
In total I have three walls(counting mudsdale) and three sweepers/attackers(counting ninetales-alola). The three main modes of the team will be:
Two walls and one attacker mode
Ninetales lead, one wall, and another attacker
All three attackers(w/ ninetales lead, obviously)
I will never send out all three walls because dear god that is not a good idea
Thanks! (in advance)
