Okay, in Generation 8 Gengar got a few new really cool tools, but lost its Mega. Solution? Build a National Dex AG team that can support its Mega.

Basically I decided to build a team around Mega Gengar as a stallbreaker and sweeper. So far it's been really fun to use, and I've won some battles even though my team isn't full Ubers.

Pokepaste

Gengar-Mega @ Gengarite
Ability: Cursed Body --> Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Nasty Plot
- Substitute
- Encore

Mega Gengar, the trapper, Stallbreaker, and special sweeper of the team. Substitute scouts moves against things that might set up on it. Then, if a status move is used, Encore locks them into it, allowing Gengar to freely set up with Nasty Plot. Shadow Ball is chosen as the STAB because of Zacian-Crowned and Necrozma-DM, which are both immune to Shadow Ball, whereas Gengar can still win against Normal-types via PP stall. Dynamax is a big problem for this set, but Gengar can also freely stall Dynamax turns with Substitute, then switch out hoping to sweep later once they've used up their Dynamax.

Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 92 HP / 224 Def / 184 SpA / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Eruption
- Stealth Rock
- Roar

Special Primal Groudon to check most Necrozma-DM, also sort of a lead / anti-lead against opposing Groudon. With this EV spread, Earth Power KOs non-specially Defensive Groudon, whereas its Defense and HP allows it to survive opposing max Attack Groudon's Precipice Blades. Eruption also allows it to OHKO Necrozma-DM at full health. 8 Speed means it can outspeed other base-90s with 4 speed EV investment.

Zacian-Crowned @ Rusted Sword
Ability: Intrepid Sword
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Behemoth Blade
- Close Combat
- Wild Charge
- Crunch

My Physical wallbreaker, Zacian-Crowned. Behemoth Blade hits many things really hard with STAB and Intrepid Sword. Close Combat deals with opposing Arceus and Necrozma-DM without activating Weakness Policy, Wild Charge hits Bulky Flyings and Waters hard, and Crunch is an alternative for Necrozma-DM without lowering your own stats.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Rock Tomb
- Foul Play
- Pursuit
- Thunder Wave

Specially Defensive Tyranitar deals with Calyrex-S, which can be a big threat to this team. Pursuit traps Calyrex-and mostly forces a KO, Thunder Wave can cripple Speed-reliant Pokemon for my slower Pokemon to take care of later, and Rock Tomb further decreases Speed and can stop Dragon Dancers. Speaking of Dragon Dancers, Foul Play will make any Pokemon using Tyranitar as setup fodder to rethink their choices.

Ho-Oh @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 208 Def / 52 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Sacred Fire
- Toxic
- Roost
- Defog

This team's Defogger and pretty nice wall. Roost provides nice Recovery, Sacred Fire's 50% burn rate completely ruins Physical sweepers, and Toxic deals with Special Pokemon such as Xerneas that try to set up on it.

Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dual Wingbeat
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw

Now, this may seem like an unexpected pick on this team, considering it's only in UU. However, Moxie Salamence serves as a great Dynamax sweeper alongside Max Airstream. I chose Dual Wingbeat over things like Fly because Dual Wingbeat breaks Sashes and it's not a two-turn move. Earthquake is for Coverage and Dragon Dance is a nice boosting move Post-Dynamax or Pre-Dynamax. Now, I'm not quite sure if I should keep Dragon Claw. It's mostly for other Dragons since Salamence's Physical Attack and moves are not that good and so I can't always rely on Dual Wingbeat for other Dragons. However, if I replace Dragon Claw I might be able to use either valuable recovery in Roost, another great Max Move of Brick Break, or something else. I'm open to suggestions for this move slot, or if I should just keep Dragon Claw.

So yeah, that's my team. Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
