Abra
Nice set. Psychic is a bit better than Psyshock, as there’s fewer special walls in LC than in higher tiers (Chansey, Blissey, etc.), and Happiny is nowhere to be found. You could try Life Orb for free extra damage, as the recoil is negated by Magic Guard, but Focus Sash is a very viable choice as well. A Modest Nature works very well if you want to swap a point of Speed for more power -- Abra is so fast, it outspeeds most things even without a Speed boosting Nature. I strongly recommend going with the Smogon suggested EVs, as LC EVs work a bit differently.
Abra @ Focus Sash / Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
Level: 5
EVs: 236 SpA / 76 SpD / 196 Spe
Modest / Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Energy Ball
Axew
To be perfectly honest, Axew isn’t all that great in LC. Tyrunt is a Dragon type with a higher Attack stat at the price of slightly less Speed and a few more weaknesses, while Archen is faster and has the highest Attack in the tier. Both are good choices, but I actually heavily recommend a different Pokemon: Pawniard. Its Attack is just two points lower than Axew, plus it gets Stealth Rock, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance (!), and a wonderful Ability in Defiant, which acts as insurance against Intimidate Scraggy/Growlithe, and Sticky Web teams. Here’s Smogon’s set:
Pawniard @ Eviolite
Ability: Defiant
Level: 5
EVs: 156 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SpD / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Stealth Rock
Grookey
Grookey is much better off with a Life Orb or even an Eviolite instead of a Focus Sash. Drain Punch lets it recover any HP it loses from the Life Orb, and it can devastate a lot more with it, or live longer with an Eviolite. Adamant is also a bit better, as you don’t really need Jolly when you’ve got such a powerful STAB priority move.
Grookey @ Life Orb / Eviolite
Ability: Grassy Surge
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 196 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
- Swords Dance
Amaura
Amaura adds… pretty much nothing to your team. Ice Pokemon as a whole aren’t in very high demand in LC, especially not a slow one with multiple severe weaknesses to common moves like Pawniard’s Iron Head, Timburr’s Drain Punch, Krabby’s Crabhammer, Grookey’s Grassy Glide, Diglett’s Earthquake, Frillish’s Scald, and Mienfoo’s High Jump Kick. The only thing it does is set up Aurora Veil, but good luck getting that up with Mach Punch and faster opponents running amok wherever you go. If you want a Rock type (always a good idea, being able to nail Vullaby), you should go with Onix. It gets Stealth Rock, Earthquake to slam Mareanie, Rock Blast for Vullaby, and Explosion for a nuke. The EVs in the set below let it reach 17 Speed, enough to outspeed quite a few threats.
Onix @ Berry Juice
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 236 Atk / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
Corphish
Good choice, but the set needs a bit of tweaking. Focus Sash could be swapped with an Eviolite, X-Scissor is pretty much useless (I see what you’re going for, but the only Grass type of note in the tier weak to Bug is Grookey, who can and will murder you after a Grassy Glide), and you absolutely must have Knock Off or Superpower -- the former because it’s incredibly helpful utility, the latter so you can hit Ferroseed for a nice chunk of damage.
Corphish @ Focus Sash
Ability: Adaptability
Level: 5
EVs: 196 Atk / 76 SpD / 236 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Crabhammer
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
Azurill
As the comments have established, this is not a good choice. You desperately need a Grookey counter on your team, and there’s two options that make the cut: Koffing and Foongus. Both resist Grookey’s most common moves (barring Knock Off, and Foongus must beware the rare Acrobatics), and can hit it super effectively in return, plus provide more helpful utility.
Foongus, in addition to helping against Grookey, is also able to switch into other threats like Spritzee, Mareanie, and Timburr, and put them to sleep with Spore.
Foongus @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 124 HP / 156 Def / 156 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
Koffing similarly checks Grookey, Spritzee and Mareanie, but its coverage also allows it to score a KO on Ferroseed. It exchanges putting opponents to sleep with burning them, which can be more helpful depending on the matchup.
Koffing @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Neutralizing Gas
EVs: 36 HP / 196 SpA / 236 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Will-O-Wisp
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt
I’d choose Koffing over Foongus, but you should play around with both until you decide what fits your needs more.
Practice constantly, and make changes as you feel necessary. Playtesting will forever be more effective than theory, so switch around any of my advice if it doesn’t quite work for you. Nevertheless, I hope I’ve been of assistance, and best of luck in LC!
