Now, I’m not an expert at team building in general, and this is my first time building a rain team, so I would appreciate it if you could give some advice and help fix my team. Anyways, here’s the team.

My rain setter, and a staple in every gen 8 OU team. Scald is for inflicting burns on scary physical attackers, while Defog is to help support my team by removing hazards. Roost is to keep Pelliper alive longer, and U-Turn is for pivoting.

Jack Sparrow (Pelipper) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Defog
- Roost
- U-turn

Barraskewda, one of the most common rain abusers in gen 8 OU. Choice band is to help it deal even more damage along with its already high attack stat, and can allow it to sweep by just slamming liquidation. Psychic fangs and Close Combat is for coverage while Flip turn is for pivoting.

Barraskewda @ Choice Band
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flip Turn
- Psychic Fangs
- Liquidation
- Close Combat

I wanted both a physical and a special attacker, so Kingdra was my best option. Choice specs allow Kingdra to deal even more damage with Draco meteor and can OHKO even more pokemon, and swift swim allows it to outspeed common picks like Dragapult and kill it with a Draco Meteor. Hurricane has a 100% accuracy in the rain, allowing them to hit grass types for super effective damage. I went with surf over Hydro Pump because I prefer to be able to hit my attacks and not miss everything with my crappy luck. Flip Turn is for pivoting.

Kingdra @ Choice Specs
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Hurricane
- Flip Turn

Scizor benefits well in rain teams, as it halves its 4x weakness to fire. Technician + life orb allows all its attacks to do a ton more damage. Bullet punch is there for obvious reasons, while roost is to help keep Scizor alive longer. Bug Bite can help get rid of any of the opponent berries and Dual wingbeat can help break possible sashes, while also helping to check grass types.

Scizor @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- Bug Bite
- Dual Wingbeat

I figured I needed a tank, so I went either Ludicolo, although Ferrothorn could work as well, I just felt like Ludicolo benefits more from rain due to its ability. Setting up Leech seed can allow it to heal while chipping the opponent's health, and Scald as well as Giga drain are STAB moves, and can either help inflict a burn on the enemy or allow Ludicolo to regain a bit more health.

Ludicolo @ Leftovers
Ability: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 228 Def / 28 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Giga Drain
- Leech Seed
- Protect

Now, the final member of the team. I wanted an electric type that can help take electric moves somewhat well and can also benefit from a guaranteed Thunder, which has a whopping 110 base damage. Zapdos not only gets guaranteed Thunders but also Hurricanes. Weather Ball is coverage for Zapdos against water types and Roost is there to help Zapdos survive even longer.

Zapdos @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Thunder
- Weather Ball
- Hurricane

If you have any suggestions and ways to modify the team, I would appreciate it because I feel like it’s still lacking some things, Thank you!

This team doesn't have a proper switchin to Tapu Lele. I reccomend replacing Scizor with Ferrothorn.

Scizor does counter Tapu Lele, but it needs some additional SpD investment for the Focus Blast switch-in.
His scizor spread gets 2hkoed by Specs Lele Psychic. Even you run full sp.def, Scizor is forced to Roost after one Psychic. It is also highly likely to be 2hkod by Specs Lele Focus Blast. Scizor only counters Scarf Tapu Lele.
Wait, this team has no ground immunity. I reccomend replacing either Kingdra or Ludicolo with Seismitoad.
I think hydro pump is better for kingdra than surf, sure it can miss but it gives it more firepower to OHKO some threats, since kingdra is specs.
I'd replace Scizor for Ferrothorn to help against Scarf Lele.  Also, I'd replace Ludicolo for Seismitoad no doubt.  Tapu Koko and Electric coverage wreck this team, which it reduces.
