Farigiraf @ Mental Herb
Ability: Armor Tail
EVs: 26 HP / 27 Def / 3 SpA / 10 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Trick Room
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic Noise
This is the only Trick Room setter I currently have. It's bulky enough to survive a Kowtow Cleave from a max attack Black Glasses Kingambit and has the Mental Herb to block being Taunted, since the team doesn't do very well if Trick Room can't get up. It has Hyper Voice for STAB spread damage, Thunderbolt for coverage, and then I'm running Psychic Noise as another STAB move that also helps with Sinistcha and Draining Kiss on Floettes. Farigiraf's not meant to be there for much damage output, it's mostly there to get Trick Room up and then use its bulk to last and block priority moves for a bit. This is also why I don't run Sitrus Berry on this, as I don't need it to last long and if it dies turn one of Trick Room then I get a free switch into a Mega. I feel safer having Mental Herb to guarantee we get Trick Room up on the first turn.
Drampa @ Drampanite
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 32 HP / 2 Def / 32 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Earth Power
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Hyper Voice
I use this as my main attacker a lot of the time when Scrafty has a bad matchup. Earth Power is great into a lot of mons, Dragon Pulse is good for STAB without the inaccuracy or stat drop of Draco Meteor, and Hyper Voice is again STAB spread damage. I put Calm Mind for when I'm not particularly threatened and am willing to take a turn doing some setup but I don't click it often.
Sinistcha @ Big Root
Ability: Hospitality
EVs: 32 HP / 15 Def / 4 SpA / 15 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Matcha Gotcha
- Shadow Ball
- Life Dew
- Rage Powder
I think this is a pretty standard Sinistcha team for the most part? Rage Powder redirects, Shadow Ball for STAB damage, Life Dew to heal, Matcha Gotcha for STAB spread damage. Big Root helps with Matcha Gotcha healing although I'm not crazy attached to it if there's a better item I'm missing. This is mostly for the Hospitality buff, another mon that's not really there to deal damage, hence the EV investment in bulk.
Scrafty @ Scraftinite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 32 HP / 32 Atk / 2 SpD
Brave Nature
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab
- Detect
In case the username doesn't make it obvious, I love Scrafty. He was the mon I tried to build the team around originally as the damage dealer, although I had to introduce Drampa for situations where the double Intimidate isn't good (mostly Kingambit, who can outspeed in Trick Room). Drain Punch and Knock Off are good STAB attacks, Poison Jab is for coverage against Fairies, which I rarely bring Scrafty into. It won't get the KO unsupported but it does decent damage. And then Detect because there's never a situation where you regret having it, especially with its 4x weakness.
Grimmsnarl @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 32 HP / 19 Def / 15 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Spirit Break
- Reflect
- Sucker Punch
- Light Screen
Prankster screen setter. I usually lead it to protect Farigiraf further if there's any bad matchup to lead a mega into. STAB Sucker Punch, Spirit Break because why not. I'm considering running Parting Shot on this thing instead of one of its attacks so that I can switch in my Megas more safely when leading him, but I'm not sure if it's worth it and if it is which attack to take away.
Sylveon @ Fairy Feather
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 32 HP / 2 Def / 32 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Moonblast
- Detect
- Shadow Ball
I didn't know what to put as my last slot when I was building this, so I checked our overall type coverage and found Sylveon was a decent matchup, plus it's slow and powerful. Hyper Voice is obvious, Moonblast is great with the Pixilate and Fairy Feather boost without the recharge turn of Hyper Beam, Detect because again you'll never regret not having it, and Shadow Ball again for coverage.
I don't have much experience with competitive beyond watching Wolfey vids and am trying to get into it with Champions, but every team I build gets stuck in Ultra Ball. I don't know if it's that I haven't played a ton of battles with this team or something and that's why it's not ranked high, but I'm already noticing some weaknesses. It's definitely very much a sweeps-or-gets-swept team, and also struggles a lot against other Trick Room teams because a lot of these mons are pretty fast compared to other TR mons. It just feels incomplete, but I don't have the experience or expertise to fix it, so here we are. Hope I formatted this all correctly, and thanks in advance!
