Also I saw something about how a hero would sacrifice you to save the world, but a villain would sacrifice the world to save you.

It's actually so easy to be a bad guy. Think about it: If you're a hero, you have a lot of people who oftentimes don't respect you, despite your, well, heroic acts, whereas being a villain, fear > respect. Now it's a question of whether or not it's better to be feared than respected
