I have a few ideas you should cosnider from.

1. if you think their life is at risk, you can call 911. You will NOT be in trouble, even if everything's fine, and your friend won't know it was you who called.. you tell them what your friend said, and they will make sure they get help.
2. you can tell someone at school. some schools have counsellors. if you tell the school counsellor or the teacher, they will give them the help. they will not tell your friend it was you who was concerned.
3. you can tell your parents. if this is something you'd like to try, i can help you draft a script on how to approach them.
4. your friend can text 988 for help anytime. they can also text "START" to phone number 741741

Two Questions:
- is this friend a friend you know in person?
- do you have a phone you can call from?
