I usually turn them into comments if they fall into one of two categories:

1: Thank you's. Sometimes new users will say "Thank you very much!" but make it an answer instead of a comment. Just convert it onto the correct answer and leave a friendly note explaining that, in the future, they should say their thanks as a comment. End with smiley face :)

2: Half-assed answers or really short, inadequate answers. It's hard to give an example of this but basically if it looks like it should be a comment (e.g. Is it really that hard? I use Weavile all the time.)
