By "monotype format", I mean this: https://www.smogon.com/dex/ss/formats/monotype/
It's a battle format you can play on Showdown in the same way you're playing DUU on Showdown.

If you're going to change the team to play it in monotype instead of DUU, then yes, that's fine. But there's nothing you could change that would make a monotype team used specifically in DUU allowed (because then you can't seriously claim to be playing to win).
