Posted this on your question about rating your ingame team, but also posting it here so it doesn't go away:
The thing about ingame teams is it doesn't really matter what you use. Just use whatever pokemon you like, and as long as they aren't horrendously underleveled you can beat the game. If you want a somewhat competitive team, try to use pokemon with a high base stat total and/or pokemon from this list:

Also, generally speaking, you really don't have to bother with status moves on an ingame team either. If you want to use them, you can, but because of potions and x items existing, they are honestly not necessary unless maybe you're preparing for a boss fight. (eg. A specific pokemon is giving you trouble, so you teach one of your pokemon Thunder Wave to cripple it). If you ever have trouble with anything, you can just overlevel one of your pokemon. There isn't much "strategy" to ingame teams. Just use what you like and have fun. :p
BTW Tearful Look is an example of a move that doesn't add much ingame (or competitive either). Start with replacing moves like that if you want your team to be more effecient.
