My Top Five Movies of 2014:
5. Captain America: Winter Soldier
-I'm a huge fan of comic books, and have been very pleased with the MCU adaptations. This movie was in my opinion better than the first Captain America, and it does what the MCU does best and mashed well choreographed fight scenes with witty dialogue and a strong plot filled with intrigue and huge consequences for the MCU.
4. The Lego Movie
-I honestly expected this movie to suck when I first heard it was being made. I was thinking "soulless cash grab". It turns out, this movie is a heartfelt loveletter to Lego, and is something I recommend anybody who enjoyed Lego now or in their childhood to watch. The aesthetic is spot on, with a world made of Lego, and it moves like one of the old stop motion Lego shorts I used to watch all the time when I was younger. It brings in sets from all throughout the ages, and even if a specific set doesn't have a prominent role, it will be sure to be mentioned. This is a world where Han Solo, Batman, Dumbledore, and more live together, and the Lego take on well known characters is incredibly charming. With a brilliant voice cast (it includes Morgan Freeman in a comedic role, which is hilarious) and a great sense of humor, I enjoyed every minute of this movie.
3. Edge of Tomorrow
-Groundhog's Day meets Independence Day in one of the best alien invasion movies of all time. A simple gimmick is seen in a new light, and it provides for one of the best action sci-fi movies I've seen in ages. The ending is the worst out of three possible endings they could have gone with, and is an obvious sign of how little Hollywood thinks of the average viewer, but it doesn't ruin the movie at all. I wish this movie would stick to one name though. :/
2. How to Train Your Dragon 2: Dreamworks hasn't had a good animated movie since the original How to Train Your Dragon, with them releasing a bunch of terrible sequels and some merely average movies like The Croods and Turbo. Add the current Pixar slump to that, and it isn't a very good time to be a fan of animated films. Well, except for this one (and The Lego Movie, but that doesn't count here). An even better movie than the original, this movie is in my opinion the best movie that Dreamworks has put out since the first two Shrek movies. And from a dramatic standpoint (although not a comedic one) this movie even surpasses the Shrek movies. I cried and broke out into huge smiles, and laughed and just loved this fantastic movie.
1. Guardians of the Galaxy
-It's basically Star Wars with a Marvel coat of paint. And everybody was Han Solo. A great cast of characters, helmed by the lovable Chris Pratt, and an epic plot with plenty of action and comedy lead to this movie being the favorite of many a movie-goer this year. And I am certainly no exception. I went on my birthday, and I was riveted.

Watched How to Train Your Dragon 2. People were right, this is one of those rare movies where the sequel is better than the original. In fact, I would go so far as to say that this is the best Dreamworks animated feature since the first two Shrek movies, possibly even surpassing them from a dramatic standpoint (although not a comedic standpoint.)

Valorous Stance seems like a possible card for my RW Heroic deck. Indestructible is always a welcome ability to have, and the versatility of having creature destruction is also good. Thing is that it has to compete with Ajani's Presence for a spot in my deck, which can target multiple creatures when I have an excess amount of mana, and has a lower base cost at only 1 CMC, rather than the 2 CMC of Valorous Stance.
Also a possible choice for my Jeskai deck as a replacement for either Feat of Resistance or Suspension Field. Also as a possible replacement for either Feat of Resistance or Suspension Field in my BW Warrior deck.
Either way, it is a very promising card.
