Is this supposed to happen in mystery dungeon explorers of darkness?

In my mystery dungeon game, when I encountered celebi, it was shiny. Is celebi really supposed to be shiny, or was I lucky to encounter it shiny?

Is this in the future dimension or is this back after the dusknoir incident (thats what i call your taking in the portal, but just in case i missed a celebi mission sorry for spoiling it)
