Does the Masuda method work this way?

Question

Say you traded for a Japanese Ditto, then you bred that Japanese Ditto with a Ditto from your own game (e.g. English), or you bred two foreign Pokemon together in your own game.

Does the resulting offspring (in both cases) carry the increased chance of hatching shinies, or will that only be the case for the Pokemon you obtained from a different language/ country game?

First of all Ditto's can't breed

And as long as they are from the different regions
like if you breed a japanese ditto with a french alakazam in an english game, the masuda method will work

Oh I forgot that Dittos can't breed with each other; that was just an example of 2 Pokemon in any case.
