No, Draco Meteor is not a good move for Garchomp.
First of all, Garchomp uses his Attack much better. 130 base attack and 80 base special attack... A 50 number difference.
80 special attack isn't bad, but why would you go for special attack when you can have more powah using attack?

For in-game, Dragon Claw
For competitive, Outrage

How do you get outrage?! Move tutor? (in pokemon diamond)
You can only learn Outrage via move tutor in PLATINUM version, or by breeding in Diamond version. I advise you learn Dragon Claw in-game since in-game is easier and the opponents weaker. You wouldnt need Outrage. But if you really insist, you could learn Outrage by learning it from the move tutor in Platinum version (if you have it!) or by breeding.

This would be a waste of Garchomp's amazing Attack stat.
Go with Outrage or Dragon claw and if you are using the generation 5 games, then Dual chop is a great move.(Helps deal with the annoying Sturdy Pokemon).

No it is not because Garchomp is a physical sweeper and sucks at special attack
Attack stat: 130
Special Attack Stat: 80
So Outrage > Draco Meteor

draco meteor is perfectly fine cuz it has great power.
But there are also other moves that deal more damage when used with it's Attack stat. For example, Outrage.
that was back during the time I didn`t care about stats, just power. srry!

Draco Meteor is a terrible move for Garchomp. Garchomp can make much better use of its attack by not wasting a move with a special one. Garchomp is a physical based Pokemon and wouldn't make much use of it. A better alternative for Garchomp is Outrage. You can get it by breeding. Get a male Dragonite to level 64 and it will learn Outrage. Breed it with a male Gible/Gabite/Garchomp and the newly hatched gible should know Outrage. If you do get Outrage, be sure to give it a lum berry or persim berry to cure its confusion. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Draco Meteor is definitely not a good move for Garchomp. Garchomp
Not only is it troublesome to be able to teach, (maximum friendship) but it is also a Special move, which is Garchomp's worst stat. Outrage (if you have Platinum) would be great, but if you want to teach Garchomp Outrage, you may want to consider giving it a Lum Berry or Persim Berry. Or you could teach it Dragon Rush, which it learns naturally at level 55, but Dragon Rush has low accuracy. Another option for Garchomp is Dragon Claw, which has good accuracy, but is not as powerful as the other moves I mentioned. It is also learned naturally by Garchomp, but at level 33, so you could have actually taught Dragon Claw to Garchomp when it was still a Gabite! Hope I helped! ^-^
