Does Blaziken/Infernape provide a more typing-wise balanced ingame?

Question

Since in Hoenn And Sinnoh there are barely any fire types, does choosing to fire started let you have an easier time with typing balance? (still, I managed to beat all eight of the hoenn and sinnoh gyms using Empoleon and Kadabra, and Swampert and something else...)

no because since there are barely any fire types that means there are mostly water rock ground electric and flying types and just a bug or 2 here or there

I'm starting to think that there being barely any other fire types that it does balance a team.....
