Knocking Off a Focus Sash? [closed]

If we use Knock Off on a Pokémon equipped with Focus Sash and (for some reason) it kills it in 1 hit, does the Focus Sash effect activate or is it knocked off before it can save anything?

Knock off damages the foe then removes the item so it would save him.
