How do you get the machops to move the boxes in the dept store basement?

In the basement of the Goldenrod Department Store, there are those machops moving boxes. As you play the game more bs more get moved so you can get to items.

But there is an item still blocked off by a box (I've completed the game now) - how do I move it out the way?

You just speak to the workers next to the Machops. they will tell them to move the crates
