Does Drought cause harsh sunlight for the entire battle?

When a Pokemon with the ability Drought is brought out, and the weather changes to harsh sunlight, does the weather stay this way the entire battle? Unless of course it's changed by a move such as Sandstorm, Rain Dance, ect. I was just wondering because Mega Charizard Y's Ability is Drought, and if he hypothetically fainted in battle, would the sun continue or would it end in 5 turns?

In generation 5 and below, Drought, Drizzle, Snow Warning, and Sand Stream all last forever unless a conflicting weather starts or a Pokemon with Cloud Nine comes into battle.

In generation 6 and probably up, which I assume you're talking about because you mentioned Mega Charizard, Drought, Drizzle, Snow Warning and Sand Stream only last 5 turns, and can also stop for the reasons listed above.

Well contrary to normal weather coming from Sunny Day and Rain Dance, Drought and Drizzle Sand Stream and Snow Warning weather conditions stay the Entire Battle. Of course unless the opponent changes it with one of those moves, you're in for a hot day mate.
