Is it possible to use Switcheroo with a Mega Stone?

Question

Like for Example in a double battle. I have my Tyranatar Mega Evolve at the start, and my second Pokemon is (whoever can use Switcheroo) and has a Life Orb. Is it possible to switch the Life Orb to my T-Tar? would it Devolve? (even though I have never seen that before) Has anyone tried this?

This has always been an interesting subject to me... Embargo doesn't work either.

Switcheroo works on every item except if the user or target is holding a mega stone, the move fails.
