How can I get multiple (version specific) mega stones?

I accidentally traded away a mega stone that is version specific. How can I get another one?

You can either reset your game to replay your adventure and get back the stone, or trade for a Pokemon holding it. You can't get the stone back any other way, you have to get it from a trade or from resetting your game.

Asking someone to give you the Mega Stone in a trade is the only way. You only receive one of each Mega Stone, so that is the reason.
