PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I think this may be a stupid question, but I always question myself about how.
Ok, so Arceus was born in a egg in the middle of nothing and then created the universe and the world of Pokémon.
Now, if there is 1 egg and there was nothing, what or who created that egg, making Arceus be born? I'm sure that it didn't appeared there by magic. Also Arceus being genderless confuses the things.

Nothing created the egg.

A real life comparison with Arceus would be the Christian idea of God:

>In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1

Therefore nothing created the creator; the creator simply existed. Also, Arceus being genderless doesn't confuse anything; why would it need a gender? It's a deity that has powers and intelligence beyond the understanding of most, or all, of the people in the Pokemon universe, so why would it have a gender like most life forms? In fact, Arceus being genderless actually makes more sense, because it sets it apart from most other Pokemon. Note that a lot of mythical Pokemon are genderless; nearly all legendaries.

And frankly, 'magic' is pretty much used to explain half, if not most, of the stuff in the Pokemon universe. It's fictional, so there's a lot less need for things to make perfect sense/ logic.

Pokedex says: According to the legends of Sinnoh, this Pokémon emerged from an egg and shaped all there is in this world.
that better not be a negative remark about Christians.
Rejoice, it isn't. It's a referance. How Arceus was made is like asking the beginning of the world tho
No it wasn't a negative remark. Arceus is just (rather obviously) based upon deities from real life religions.
