Well I recently caught 4 Zigzagoons with the idea to raise them to level 92 (each one of these Zigzagoons have the Pickup ability) because according to some ''things'' I've seen about the ability at levels 91-100 is the best chance to get Rare Candies. Now, what i'm wondering is if this idea would actually work anf if it is worth trying.

I always get 5 pokemon with the pickup ability as soon as I can. I lvl them with the exp share while I'm ev training a single member of my battle party or later when grinding for levels. 4 of them at a time can pick up junk to sell till they're all level 41. After that they're all up to 10% on the rare candies front. You have a 1 out of 10 chance for each of them to get one which is like a 50% chance for one of them to pick one up when they've all got an item. I end up with about 10-15 rare candies a day.

No.

The chance for Pickup to activate after winning a battle is 10%, and the maximum chance of a Rare Candy being "picked up" is 10%, which means that there is a 1% chance of getting a Rare Candy from a Pickup Pokémon. Even if you have a party full of level 41+ Zigzagoon, the chance will be 6%.
So really, it's probably not an effective way of farming Rare Candies. It is the only way though, as far as I know. Rare Candy isn't a really great item anyway, it is quicker to experience grind at the E4.

i've found having them useful for checking iv's while breeding

it has always worked for me in the past, although the chance to get rare candies actually maxes out at level 41, after that you just have a chance to get some rare things.

Why?? Just WHY??

I'm sorry but would it not make more sense to Lvl up the Pokemon by spamming the elite 4? You are still leaving it up to chance of getting rare candies.
