Why is Deerling part Normal type?

It is Normal and Grass types, why is that?

Why is Helioptile Part normal? Why is Littleo Part normal? Why isn't Masquerain Water like Surskit?

Game Freak knows, man. Game Freak knows.

Logically, though, it can be explained. Deerling is based on a deer (who knew?). Deer are pretty normal animals. So it makes sense that Deerling is part Normal-type.
