How can you tell where hidden items are underwater?

I'm not looking for a link to a web page, I'm just wondering if there is an in-game way to know where these items are. It would appear the dowsing machine can't be used under water

Unfortunately, there is no way to actually tell where hidden items are underwater. You will have to look it up or play the guessing game.

Sometimes, hidden items are a little obvious, like if you see a missing patch of seaweed, it's probably a hidden item
