What does it mean if a region is not confirmed?

In a video on YouTube, he says Hoenn has not been confirmed. (Even though it was a year ago, I want to know what it means when a region is not confirmed.)

It means nothing. If it was a year ago, they were just saying that Hoenn remakes weren't confirmed by Nintendo.

It means that they haven't confirmed remakes, or that it is one of those "new generation seven region (but not confirmed)" things.
Most likely the first was the one you saw.
