Would this chain of Trading work?

Question

If I get a shiny Eevee on Pokemon LeafGreen, I would want to evolve it into Espeon or Umbreon to use on my team. If I traded it to a beaten FireRed/LeafGreen, then to a copy of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald to evolve it, traded it back, would I be able to get it back onto my original copy of LeafGreen? I wouldn't have the national dex.

Yes, the trade would still work. Not having the National Pokédex does not prohibit you from obtaining Pokémon from the National Pokédex. You will be able to trade over Espeon/Umbreon back to LeafGreen.

I got the shiny Eevee. However,it's Nature was awful for Umbreon. It was great for Espeon, but I already have a psychic type on my team. So in the end, I evolved it into Jolteon. I'll keep this advice in mind though in case I find a shiny Zubat or something.
