Did Swirlix gain 1 or 2 Ev point(s)?

So my swirlix didn't have pokerus and when I defeated a wild wurmple it got pokerus. How many points did it get?

When a Pokémon has the Pokérus, it gains double the effort values from battling...

Since has is present perfect progressive tense your Pokemon would need to have Pokerus before going into battle. So in this instance you gained one. Any other battle you'd gain two.
