Confusing when receiving eon ticket?

I was sitting at home after I finished the delta episode and a few seconds later I recieved a eon ticket. Is there any special way to recieve the eon ticket after a special event in-game such as beating the elite 4 or finishing delta episode

The only way to get the Eon Ticket was to pass by someone with streetpass that already had a Eon Ticket. Most likely, you just passed someone by after completing the Delta Episode.
