What are the situations in which Assurance doubles in power?

I can only think of moves with recoil, but those are fairly rare both in-game and competitive. Weather (hail or sandstorm) wouldn't affect it, because they do damage at the end of the turn.

Say your Pokemon is slower and the opponents hits and you use assurance then the power is doubled
