I have recently learned not all mega stones are available in Gen 7. This does sadden me, and Id just like to know which megas aren't returning. (Poor, poor Latias..)

All previous mega's are in sun and moon. However you cannot get the mega stone for about 25 of them at the moment, but your opponents can use it alright.

According to Serebii, the following Mega Stones are obtainable in Sun/Moon (I can never get the names right, so I'll just say the names of the Pokémon):

  • Mega Charizard Y
  • Mega Blastoise
  • Mega Alakazam
  • Mega Slowbro
  • Mega Gengar
  • Mega Kangaskhan

  • Mega Sableye
  • Mega Sharpedo
  • Mega Absol
  • Mega Glalie
  • Mega Salamence
  • Mega Metagross
  • Mega Garchomp

Also Mega Rayquaza and Primal Groudon/Kyogre.

  • Mega Houndoom
  • Mega Tyranitar
  • Mega Blaziken
  • Mega Swampert
