Events for Golden Bottle Caps?

I've read that Pokemon is giving out QR codes for Japanese players only, for 1 Golden Bottle Cap on the 14th December for 1,400 yen. Can Americans players do the same and buy Golden or Silver Bottle caps? even better can we get them for free? and how?

Currently, in the U.S. there are no events for the Golden Bottle Caps, unfortunately. The only ways to receive the golden ones are through the Festival Plaza as the number one prize for the Treasure Hunt shop, or Poke Pelago, which is also extremely rare.

They're not the top prize. I got the top prize once and it was a big nugget, which is kind of a shame since you will always have more money than you need in S/M, and I haven't got a prize above the number 6 prize since.

You can also get Gold Bottle Caps through the Poke Pelago, although once again they are very rare.
