Meganium or Victreebel for In-game Gold?

Question

I reset my save file for GS and continued to SR until I got a Female Totodile. (Which I got on second try and named "Bayonetta") Then I did the 3 starter glitch and got myself a Female Cyndaquil, but i'm not sure if I should continue on and get a Chikorita and actually play the game or if I should kick Chikorita and get a Bellsprout instead.

I'm pretty sure Chikorita is better because Meganium is much more bulky than Victreebel and it can learn razor leaf, synthesis, and body slam by level up.
