Is Ice Beam or Ice Punch more effective for Feraligatr?

Since my Feraligatr has super attack I was leaning towards Ice Punch. But Ice Beam has such a higher attack power than Ice Punch. So which one is better suited for him?? His attack stat is 174 and special attack is 142.

The way to work this out is to multiply its Attack with the power of the physical move, and the Special Attack with the power of the special move and compare. This is not exactly what damage it will do but the damage will be proportional to that (the formula contains this calculation inside it).

Ice Punch = 75 x 174 = 13050
Ice Beam = 95 x 142 = 13490

So Ice Beam would be better in this case.
