How do Eviolite boosts work?

Question

I heard that it makes unevolved Pokemon's defenses boosted by 50% but I also heard that middle Pokemon like Grottle and Shelgon are only boosted by 30% is this correct.

Yes it does. If the pokemon hasn't evovled to its full stage it want get the boost. Never heard of a 30% boost
