How do you use the dexnav to find shinys on Pokémon omega ruby?

The YouTube videos are confusing as crap please help

Steps:

1. Go to the place you want to hunt.
2. Activate dexnav, then use a repel. This eliminates any unwanted regular Pokemon.
3. Tap the Pokemon you want on the dexnav, and it will begin the search. Note you must have previously found this Pokemon. Do not make it run once you find it, as this will break the chain.
4. If it didn't work, move to a different spot in the same location as the Pokemon lives in. Leaving will break the chain.
5. If a random Pokemon appears on the dexnav, encounter it, make it faint, and continue searching for the one you want.
6. Repeat steps 2-5 until you get the Pokemon you want.
