Will My Aipom change abilities when it evolves?

I'm doing an Oak challenge right now, and I plan to have Aipom as my Pickup Pokemon since I need it to be level 32 anyways to evolve, but I'm worried if there's a chance it'll change abilities when it evolves, since Ambipom has two abilities. Is it possible? what are the odds?

Your Pokemon will always keep the same 'ability slot' when it evolves. Pickup is Aipom's slot #2 ability and it is also Ambipom's slot #2 ability, so Pickup Aipom's ability will never change upon evolution. However, a Run Away Aipom (i.e. with slot #1) would evolve into a Technician Ambipom every time, because Technician is Ambipom's slot #1.

The ability would only change (to Technician) if you had Run Away as the ability, so Ambipom should keep Pickup when it evolves.

i think this may be because its orginal ability was run away but i changed it in a hacking app, so theoretically i could just change it back ;w;
