What does the Wailmer Pail do?

I just got the Wailmer Pail and used it on some ungrown crops. I'm wondering what it does to the crops. (Alpha Sapphire)

The Wailmer Pail allows the player to water planted Berries. If watering is done correctly, the resulting Berry trees will have higher amounts of Berries to pick and store.

The Wailmer Pail is used to Water Berries you planted. This as a result produces more berries than normal if done often.
