Can I play both versions of Ultra-Sun and Ultra-Moon on the same Nintendo 3DS?

So basically my brother bought Ultra sun without researching any info on the difference of Ultra sun and moon and now that I searched it up, I want to get Ultra moon. The problem is my brother wants Ultra sun and I want Ultra moon and we only have one Nintendo 3DS. So can we play both versions on the same Nintendo 3DS?

Yes I know its an old game but I just recently discovered about the Nintendo 3DS and Pokemon games.
