PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I'm doing a nuzlocke of bw and I got a trash encounter so to vent my frustration, I was gonna name it something profane, the p word, no not the f. Every time I click the 'okay' button nothing ever happens. I had to put a space at the end for it to work. Is this a thing in the game or is this just an emulator bug? If this is a thing in the game, which games does this dumb restriction occur?

Under “In the Games”, there are a couple paragraphs that say from Gen V onward.

From Generation V onward, the game will recognize when a nickname contains inappropriate text, and will not allow the player to use this as a nickname. The Generation V games contain an internal list of censored words which only censors case-insensitive matches.

Since BW and Generation V, there has been a consistently updating list of profane or inappropriate words that you are not allowed to name a Pokemon or a player. However, there are many ways to get around this restriction, such as using spaces, periods, or asterisks.

Hope I could help!

Since gen v has an internal list, do you know where that list can be found? The one in the comment to the question was only for xy
It does and it seems the one I wanted to give my trash mon really is on the list. Thanks
