PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I know that in the anime, Ash sends his Pokemon to Professor Oak which basically implies that, if they have a place to go, the Trainer can send them to a different place like a family or something. However, I'm curious on what the default is - Do they just get stored in a Pokemon Center somewhere? I seen some answered questions about Pokemon Centers bringing up a 'Poke Ball Room' and kinda feel like that might be the case.

Also to add on, I think I remember in the anime at some episode, this room existed where Team Rocket tried to steal the entire thing - Rows of Pokeballs and all. If that's the case, what's the exact episode called?

I thought they all went to Professor Oak
In the anime, we see that Ash's stored Pokemon get transferred to Oak's Reserve, where they hang out and play, and are fed by the professor.
Could this answer be closed because it requires theorizing?
@MB I vaguely recall it being mentioned in the Gen 1 anime. Im sure there’s an answer. I think it should stay open.
I've seen multiple episodes with Poke Ball rooms in Pokemon Centers and schools and stuff, with Team Rocket attempting to steal from them multiple times. I think the answer is that if they aren't sent to family, friends, or professors (like Oak), they're stored in the Poke Ball rooms in Pokemon Centers.
If you could source an episode you could probably remove this question from the unanswered list
Think Whiteout is the answer for this one, ty! Now just need to figure out how to close this question and all-
The question doesn't have to be closed. They or you can answer the question with what Whiteout said and then the question will be considered resolved

Pokemon are stored in Poké Ball rooms

Inside a typical Pokémon Center, one can find a front desk, a lobby (sometimes with vending machines), a Poké Ball room, an Emergency Room with plenty of beds for injured Pokémon, a recovery room, a waiting room, rooms for lodging, and a cafeteria

This is where the Pokemon are stored. Multiple episodes show Poke Ball rooms, such as this one, even this one (there's more but I cant name 'em off the top of my head), and they aren't limited to Pokemon Centers as Schools and labs have them too.

Hope I helped.
