Why is the Xerneas you get in Pokémon X not normally colored?

So, It's not shiny or regular, but it has light blue horns, and a mostly black and blue body. What is the reason for this?

Also, in online battles it changes to the regular colors.

The form you're describing is known as Neutral Mode, and appears when Xerneas isn't in a battle or Contest. This form difference is purely visual and has no effect on gameplay. The developers probably did this to make Xerneas look stronger when it reawakened.

Pokémon X and Y had problems with colour saturarion. This sometimes caused some Pokémon to have slight differences in color in these games then their normal models.

Actually, Xerneas has two modes, Active and Neutral. Its Neutral mode has light blue horns as opposed to Active mode's rainbow horns. Active mode only shows when in a battle.

I know about it's battle form, but it changed it's shade of blue when we were battling because X and Y has weird colouring.

I mean maybe it did look off while battling, but that doesn't answer the question. Asker states that this palette is much more than just a colour getting shifted a few degrees. Happily, their description exactly fits Neutral Mode.
