You first participate in the Pokemon World Tournament after obtaining your fifth Gym Badge from Clay in Driftveil City. He will take you and your rival to the Driftveil Tournament, which you have to win to advance in the story. The other three main types of tournaments open after you beat the Driftveil Tournament for the first time, but the special tournaments have different prerequisites. You may find these on Serebii.
