Yes, stance change does activate when you use an attacking Z-Move, however it will only Stance Change into Shield Form if you use King's Shield or Z-King's Shield,

Doesn't Stance Change only revert Aegislash back into Shield Form when it specifically used King's Shield, not just any status move? Would Z-King's Shield not revert Aegislash back to its Shield Form?
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldex-2474136593-evc8bfydp7u9pfbj5uiv48r7ixloepmpw unfortunally can't test this in a main series game but in showdown z-kings shield does revert aegislash back to shield form
yeah that's what I said, it will ONLY change into Shield Form with King's Shield not just any status move even if it's a Z-Move, UNLESS it's King's Shield
Your answer doesn't mention King's Shield, it only says "Aegislash won't turn back into Shield Form when it uses a status z-move", which is misleading.
thanks for helping me out, I clarified the answer a bit more.

Yes stance change does activate if you use z-king’s shield. battle replay

Note: I did play hackmons due to the fact that I couldn’t figure out where else to use aegislash.
