What is the chance of finding Aerodactyl in hyperspace wild zones?

I've recently been trying to get a shiny Aerodactyl in Pokémon Legends Z-A, but it's pretty hard, I'd say, just restoring fossils in the research lab. Therefore, I've opted to try to find a Hyperspace Distortion and use a Sparkling Power (Rock/Flying/All Types) Lvl 3 to get a guaranteed shiny. However, the hard part wasn't getting the berries for the donut or the donut's specific powers, but instead just finding a Hyperspace Distortion in which I can find Aerodactyl in. From the research I've done, I've seen that you can find it solely in 5 Star Hyperspace Wild Zones. I've been doing a lot of special scans and have got probably 4 Rotom zones, 3 Frigibax, 1 each of water, grass, and fire starters, and 1 Gimmighoul, not to mention all the hyperspace battle zones and all of the legendaries (Swords of Justice, Eon Duo, Keldeo, Meloetta). I believe the fossil one (with Aerodactyl) and a one with Porygon-Z in it. I'm wondering if the Aerodactyl zone is like less common or something? Maybe I'm just being impatient but I just want to make sure I'm not doing the wrong thing, and wasting my time. Any help would be appreciated.

I don’t have the DLC yet, but I’ve done some research. Totally possible! You just haven’t quite hit one yet. Here’s a breakdown list.

man I dunno the rate for it (I'm guessing they might all be equally likely) but I've been getting Aerodactyl zone after Aerodactyl zone while looking for a Porygon zone. We are both just unlucky

I think that it had something to do with catching Virizion? I caught Virizion and got a Gimmighoul one, and the one right after that was Fossils. I definitely agree with you about cycling, as getting the first few special scans is fun, but after that, it's just an unnecessary grind that is pretty boring.

According to this source from @AnotherLeviathan, areodactyl can only be found in 5-star distortions (it seems like you already know about special scans, the below is just to help any future veiwers, you can just skip to the conclusion)

the following contains spoilers
HOW TO GET 5 STAR DISTORSIONS
1) complete the post game of mega dimension (the bit where you beat rayquaza)
2) talk to phillipe about special scans
3) collect 25,000 research points
4) do a special scan and repeat until it is a rock (fossil) type one
5) areodactyl will be in the distortion, somewhere
(If you want a shiny one, I recommend a sparkling power 3 donut for rock/flying/all types. This will trigger a garunteed shiny to spawn, which could be areodactyl. For more info, See “what’s the deal with garunteed Shiny Pokémon” here)

SO IN CONCLUSION
Areodactyl is only obtainable via special scan for rock types. many sources say that due to the amount of special scans, and how all are equal, the final digit would be a 3% chance
