Normally, you can't get Espeon and Umbreon on FRLG due to not having a battery to track daytime events. however, the switch has a clock. Did they edit the game so that you can evolve eevee into Espeon/Umbreon?

Why's this tagged future-sensitive?
No, they did not. Even if the switch has a clock, the game still has no concept of day and night, only passing time. Espeon and Umbreon are unobtainable. If this is satisfactory as an answer, please let me know.
@ditto, I tagged it as future-sensitive since information is still coming out. Plus, Pokemon home.
@monkey, I’d like more details mechanically or proof. The logic behind my question also included “what if they fixed that and made it secretly realize the switch time” since they fixed various other issues already. I’d like an answer that states, “I tried and no”, or “this is why that wouldn’t be possible”

Oh, I’d also like the answer to include ACE. No need to detail, just to say it’s possible in that regard, just for completeness
I found this recent article for the switch re-release saying the evolution is still impossible. I'm going to hold off answering this though because The Gamer is infamous for lack of research and rushed articles. FRLG also doen't have a day/night cycle mechanic, and I strongly doubt the developers would bother to add one for the remake, since they left all the other mechanics contact.

No, sadly, you cannot. It requires a day/night cycle which is absent in both the og games and the remake. Maybe trading works, but you cannot evolve them in FR/LG
