I really want a shiny, maybe Shalpha (shiny alpha) of Ceruledge. Well I guess it should be Charcadet because Ceruledge doesn’t spawn in hyperspace

Here's how I shiny hunt in Mega Dimension:

1. Make a Sparkling Power Lv 3 Fire donut

  • These are best made by putting lots of Sweet berries (ie. Hyper Tanga and Haban Berries) into a donut (usually about 3-4 of each I've found is best), and making at least 3 donuts in a batch, as we'll be resetting them if you don't like them.
  • If you don't get the power you're looking for, you can load from a backup save by pressing 'Up', 'X' and 'B' on the Home screen, as making a donut will create a hard save, but not a backup one; only fast travelling makes a backup save. Just make sure you have fast travelled after what you want to save, but before making your donut.
  • If you want a ShAlpha, you will want to reset a little more for an Alpha Power 2 or 3 as well as the Sparkling, but luckily they are also sweet powers, so you don't need to change the recipe. Without Alpha Power, Hyperspace Pokemon have a 1% chance to be an alpha, but it goes up to 21% with Alpha Power 2 and 51% with Alpha Power 3. (Good luck surving in that distortion though)

2. Get a Charcadet distortion

  • If you don't already have one, just sleep on benches, resetting the day/night cycle, as distortions reset with them.
  • Then, check all the Wild Zone distortions that cycle.
  • If you want as efficient resetting a possible, sleep in Hotel Z, as it doesn't show the battle zone activation animation during day -> night, saving you a few seconds.

3. Shiny hunt that Charcadet!

  • After entering the distortion with your Sparkly donut, there will be 1 guarenteed Shiny fire type. If it's not Charcadet, simply repeatedly fly to the portal to reset the spawns, same as fast travel hunting in Lumiose.
  • You can use a Macro controller for this bit if you want to automate it.
  • Each Charcadet near the portal has higher than 1/600 odds of being shiny, and with packs of 5 and 6, it should take only about 100 flies (barely burning calories, as you're just in the menu) to find a shiny.
  • If you somehow don't find it, do a backup reset to get your donut back, and try again!
